make up organizer

I have to admit that when it comes to make up I am pretty lost. I keep my make up crammed in a bag, use the same thing everyday and usually forget to wash my brushes (ew, i know). I have no idea how to do eye make up and I buy lipstick, wear it once and then forget I like it. I believe this is due to being a total tomboy growing up.

I thought that maybe it is time to give make up a try and maybe learn a thing or two. I have been a total dork tearing tutorials out of magazines but have yet to try any. Lately, I have been totally inspired by my friend Savannah over on Maiedae. She has an amazing YouTube channel where she features her favorite (and unfavorite) beauty products and gives amazing tutorials. She makes me feel like I can be a gorgeous, curly haired, red head too. You will love her too so check it out.

One of my first steps in this whole make up venture is to keep my makeup where I can see it. I have lots of hand me downs, samples from Birchbox and sale purchases that I've never even tried and I'm hoping keeping them out is going to help me experiment more! I came across this amazing idea to use empty candles as brush holders and I knew it was a winner for me. I thought these candles would be lovely for this (I just used what I already had around).

  1. I know how this goes! I have TONS of make-up, but I wear the same thing every day because it's easy...I need to get on the ball with that.

  2. I recently tossed all my makeup and started from scratch- having just the bare essentials has helped me a lot!

  3. I recently did the exact same thing as Sarah! It helped a lot too on my end. The number of makeup items I own can now be counted on my two hands, so organization is not a problem anymore. :)

Love that candle holder idea (looking great!), and I wish I had Savannah's hair too. Love her blog!
