I have been confessing lately how hard it can be for me to start and finish a project, a room and really most things in life. My goal has been to finish my bedroom lately and the first project on my list was to redo my bed. I had a wonderful bed before but it was too large for our room and always made it difficult to decorate around. I finally decided it had to go and the search for a new bed began. I considered lots of options like a bed with storage under it to an old iron bed. I was hoping to not spend very much money so my options were limited. Then I found this amazing DIY bed from The Clever Bunny and I knew it was exactly what I needed. I made a few adjustments mainly using these tapered legs and I am madly in love. It cost less than $50 and absolutely transformed my room. I wish you could see the smile on my face when I walk into my spacious, bright room now.
5 yards fabric (for a queen size)
8 inch Wooden Legs
Stick on Felt Pads
Top Plate for Legs
1. Drape and Cut your fabric. I cut the fabric in half and draped it horizontally across the box spring.
2. You have a choice here. I opted to leave the sewing machine out and folded the top piece of fabric over so I wouldn't have a raw seam. You also could sew the pieces together lengthwise before stapling.
3. Staple away!!
5. Attach the legs. Flip the box spring over and top it off with a mattress. Make your bed and you are done!
