There were so many fun things to do in Seattle that we just had to do our best to see the city. Even just while we were there there was an amazing music festival and giant gamers conference. We spent most of our time downtown and were so happy to be staying where we could walk to most of the things we wanted to do. Here are a few of our favorite stops.
I don't know why but wherever we go we have to stop at bookstores. It always ends up being one of our favorite things to do. It is probably because we don't have a very good bookstore in the area but I also think there is something about a lovely bookstore filled with the smell of coffee and books that makes me want to stay there forever. We fell in love with Elliott Bay Book Company. It was beautiful, had tons of reader recommendations (my favorite thing) and even a great little cafe in it. I could have spent days there.
Another great adventure we found was riding the ferry to Bainbridge Island. The ferry was a quick 30 minute ride but had great views and was only $7 round trip. Bainbridge Island is a quaint little place with adorable shops, great trails and one of our favorite meals of the trip. A great trip for a relaxing afternoon.
You can't visit Seattle without heading down to Pike's Place. It is a bustling place full of color and character. It is amazing that such a large market is right on the water and the sunset views are unbeatable. It is a fun place to stop and walk through and maybe grab a bouquet of flowers and a few ingredients for a nice dinner at home.
