west coast bound

I have had the first 2 weeks of September blocked off on my calendar since the beginning of the year. I knew I would it would be a good time to take a break from work for both Jim and I and I wanted to have another adventure like our trip to Arizona. We originally looked into taking a trip to Europe and were ready to book a flight to Istanbul. Then about 2 months ago Jim informed me that he had a conference during that time. I am a little embarrassed by how upset I was. I had been planning this trip all year! Well if you remember this post then you know this was a part of me learning to let the silly things go. I finally recognized Jim's conference was in the northern California. It could be a lot worse.

So we started planning a new trip. We are going to fly into Seattle and rent a car and drive down to Redding. We will have a few days in Seattle, a few in Portland, maybe take a day trip to the redwoods and end up in Redding for Jim's conference. While he is at the conference I will probably sleep, catch up on work and maybe take a few day trips of my own. It will be wonderful, restful and a perfect trip to start off fall.

So I am starting to plan where to stay, what to eat and anything to do while we are there. If you have any suggestions I would LOVE to hear them! We are booking hotels and such this week and it seems most of the stops we will stay somewhere on airbnb. Have you used it before?

Thanks for the help!

  1. KC and I are avid airbnb users! We have only had excellent experiences. I can't help with the rest of your trip, but would definitely recommend using airbnb! Sounds like a blast :)

  2. You should go to bakery nouveau if you can make it out to west seattle! best chocolate croissants ever!!!
