This month BIG (Bulk is Green) is challenging us to buy bulk during Earth Month this April. I have posted before about the benefits of buying in bulk but one of the main benefits is reducing packaging waste. For example, if Americans bought their almonds in bulk for 1 month then 6,000,000 lbs of waste would be saved from landfills! What an easy and awesome step to take this Earth Month. BIG has lots more amazing stats about buying bulk over on their website (not to mention they cost 89% less).

We buy almost all of our beans, nuts, grains and spices in bulk and I will never go back. I can buy the exact quantity I want and I always save money. If you don't know where to begin with buying bulk check out Natually Ella's amazing Bulk Bin Guide. She has so many great recipes that make the shift to buying bulk a breeze. Lots of stores are starting to carry to bulk bins (our Publix even has a great bulk section) but my favorite is Whole Foods and Fresh Market. Our local health food store has a good bulk section too!

  1. Oh my, I think we're connected by the universe or... or... I don't know what!

When I was in the process of decluttering my house, you posted a whole series about decluttering.

When I was looking for a detox plan, you posted one.

And, last weekend, my local organic shop started selling nuts, beans, cereals, grains, etc on bulk AND we started buying everything there!

    1. Ah! How funny!! Well I obviously like all those things so let me know when you come across other good topics!!
