the everyday do

So now that I have long hair I am having to re-learn how to style it. I got very used to waking up and walking out the door without thinking a bit about my hair. As much as I miss short hair I am beginning to see the variety long hair offers. I look forward to different updo's in the future but for now I am limited to just a few. I rock the side braid quite frequently but I have discovered a new secret to it. It jazzed it up just enough to make it my hairdo of choice for my Valentine's date.

So what's the secret? Teasing your hair! Before I pulled my hair back I teased the roots (especially at the crown) with a simple comb. Next I made a thick hairline braid and and the swept the rest back into a messy bun. My hair is too short to do much beyond this but if it were longer I would have pulled the rest back into a lovely chignon. I hope you will give it a try the next time you need to fancify your updo!

  1. I never know what to do with my hair, so I generally cut them when they're getting too long... But, this time, they ARE getting long and I LIKE them that way, and I still don't know what to do with them. So I've been looking at loads of updo tutorials lately! Yours is perfect! Really simple and lovely. Thank you for sharing! :)

    1. I am so glad you are sticking with it! I need to find some more tutorials myself.
