planting garlic

It is amazing that such a kitchen staple is so seldom grown in our own garden. Garlic is one of the easiest plants to grow and this year is the time to try. It is as simple as getting a bulb of garlic, taking off the outer layers of skin and separating the cloves. After you separate the clove, leave off that last bit of skin and plant it pointy side up, six inches apart and three inches deep.

Now is the best time to plant garlic to make sure it has time to settle before the first frost. Try and put it where it will get six hours of sun and in well drained soil. Hope you will give it a try!
